Michael Franks, Al Jarreau and Earth, Wind & Fire made some of the smoothest, funkiest records of the late '70s and '80s, and Dragonfly Garden is bringing it back to you live. This seven-piece band of Sacramento jazz musicians brings that sound to Twin Lotus for one night: deep grooves, real horn parts, and songs you'll be humming on the way home.
Trumpeter and keyboardist Alex Hawvichorst started the band to play the music he loves most. You'll hear favorites like "Popsicle Toes," "Roof Garden" and "That's the Way of the World," plus a few Jeff Lorber and David Sanborn tunes the radio never got around to.
On stage: Alex Hawvichorst (trumpet, keys), Nathan Montevirgen (vocals, piano), Danny Sandoval (sax), Vincent Pantages (guitar), Andrew Finley (bass), Paul Stamas (drums) and Steven Phan (percussion).
